End of April, we went camping in Cala Montgó, on the Costa Brava (Catalonia). It was my husband’s birthday present, and we spent a weekend at the WeCamp campsite in Cala Montgó, very close to L'Escala. The campsite was a real discovery. A beautiful campsite, where all the details are taken care of and where you would like to stay for ever! They have different types of accommodation (all of them beautiful) with a rather Nordic, minimalist, and very pleasant style. We stayed in a Bugalow Duplex, a two-story cabin that has a ceramic hob, microwave, nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher and with wide beds and high quality mattresses. All materials and shades create a harmonious atmosphere that guarantees rest and disconnection. My kids loved sleeping upstairs, which was like a little house just for them.
A finales de Abril, fuimos de camping a Cala Montgó, en la Costa Brava (Cataluña). Era el regalo de cumple a mi pareja y pasamos un fin de semana en el camping WeCamp de Cala Montgó, muy cerca de L’Escala. El camping fue un auténtico descubrimiento. Un camping precioso, donde están cuidados todos los detalles y donde te gustaría quedarte una larga temporada! Tienen diferentes tipos de alojamientos (todos ellos preciosos) con un estilo bastante nórdico, minimalista y muy agradable. Nosotros nos alojamos en un Bugalow Duplex, una cabaña de dos pisos que cuenta con vitrocerámica, microondas, cafetera nespresso, lavavajillas y con camas anchas y colchones de alta calidad. Todos los materiales y tonalidades crean una atmósfera armoniosa que garantizan el descanso y la desconexión. A mis hijos les encantó dormir en el piso de arriba, que era como una casita solo para ellos.
On Saturday we woke up and, as it was my partner's birthday, we went to celebrate by having breakfast at L'Escala, which is very close to the campsite. Our first destination was the Pastisseria Juhé, which we had read very good reviews and which is in front of the sea. As it was still low season, they didn't have a terrace and we decided to have breakfast in another café, but everything looked amazing! Finally, we had breakfast very close, at Eo! L'Escala, also super recommendable! The place is very beautiful, with views of the beach and a very delicious coffee and pastries. From there you can start a beautiful route along the coastal path that takes you from L'Escala to Sant Martí d'Empuries, very accessible and easy to do with children. The coastal path is super beautiful, and you pass through viewpoints, beaches and beautiful places, such as the Hostal Empuries which, although it is called a hostel, is an incredible hotel!
El sábado nos despertamos y, como era el cumple de mi pareja, nos fuimos a desayunar a L’Escala, que está muy cerca del camping. Nuestro primer destino fue la Pastisseria Juhé, que habíamos leído muy buenas críticas y que está delante del mar. Como aun era temporada baja, no tenían terraza y decidimos desayunar en otra cafetería, pero todo tenía una pinta increíble! Finalmente desayunamos muy cerquita, en Eo! L’Escala, también super recomendable! El sitio es muy bonito, con vistas a la playa y un café y bollería muy ricos. Desde allí mismo puedes empezar una ruta preciosa por el camino de ronda que te lleva desde L’Escala hasta Sant Martí d’Empuries, muy accesible y sencillo para hacer con niños. El camino de ronda es super bonito, y pasas por miradores, playas y lugares preciosos, como el Hostal Empuries que, aunque se llame hostal, es un hotelazo increíble!
Just before arriving in Sant Martí d'Empuries, there is a very cool playground in front of the beach, where you can also have a picnic and regain strength for the return 
. After visiting this beautiful little village we returned, this time not along the Ronda road, but through the upper part, which is also very beautiful, with countless beautiful houses. We ate at Bar La Closa, a simple restaurant with a menu of the day and combined dishes that was delicious! Here highlight the incredible fries they have. We enjoyed it very much. Then we went back to the campsite and the children did a free painting workshop organised by the campsite inside one of their cabins. They had a great time and it's a fantastic opportunity to meet other children at the campsite. In the evening, we ordered pizzas from Pizza Pazza and ended a perfect day with delicious pizzas and well priced.
Justo antes de llegar a c, hay un parque infantil delante de la playa muy chulo, donde también puedes hacer un picnic y retomar fuerzas para la vuelta . Después de visitar este precioso pueblecito volvimos, esta vez no por el camino de Ronda, sino por la parte de arriba, que también es muy bonito, con infinidad de casas preciosas. Comimos en Bar La Closa, un sencillo restaurante con menú del día y platos combinados que estaba buenísimo! Aquí destacar las increíbles patatas fritas que tienen. Lo disfrutamos muchísimo. Luego volvimos al camping y los niños hicieron un taller gratuito de pintura organizado por el camping dentro de una de sus cabañas. Se lo pasaron super bien y es una oportunidad fantástica para conocer otros niños del camping. Por la noche pedimos pizzas a Pizza Pazza y acabamos así un día perfecto. Pizzas ricas y bien de precio.
On Sunday we woke up and went to have breakfast at a also highly recommended bakery, Panadería Casamoner Torroella in Torroella de Montgrí. After breakfast we took a walk through the village, which is very nice. From there, we went to Pals, a beautiful and highly recommended town where we had already been (here link to the post). From here we went home, to Barcelona, and we also booked another weekend in May in another WeCamp, also on the Costa Brava, but this time the one in Santa Cristina. That I will tell you about in another post .
El domingo nos despertamos y fuimos a desayunar a una panadería/cafetería también muy recomendable, Panadería Casamoner Torroella en Torroella de Montgrí. Después de desayunar dimos un paseo por el pueblo que es muy agradable. De ahí, nos fuimos a Pals, un pueblo precioso y super recomendable en el que ya habíamos estado (os dejo aquí link al post). De aquí ya nos fuimos para casa, a Barcelona y, reservamos también otro fin de semana en Mayo en otro WeCamp, también en las costa Brava, pero esta vez el de Santa Cristina. Que ya os contaré en otro post .
