This week I enjoyed Brighton for a day while The Great Escape Festival was taking place. I had long wanted to visit the city and get to know this festival. A new music festival where you can discover young artists of great talent. I could only enjoy it for 24 hours, so, here just a brief photographic journal of my experience there.
Esta semana he podido disfrutar de un día en Brighton, aprovechando que era el Great Escape Festival. La verdad es que hacía tiempo que tenía ganas de visitar la ciudad y conocer este festival. Un festival de new music donde descubrir jóvenes artistas de gran talento. Solo pude disfrutar de 24h en Brighton, así que, os dejo un breve diario fotográfico.
No doubt that the most characteristic of Brighton is its pier, a part of the city that you're never tire of photographing (is it obvious? Hahaha). If I had to define the city with a single word it would be circus. Because it looks like a giant amusement park, but one of those anchored in the past. It is a super colorful city and with unique buildings such as the Royal Pavilion. In a way it looks like a set out of the movie Big.
Sin duda, lo más característico de Brighton es su muelle, una parte de la ciudad que nunca te cansas de fotografiar (¿es muy evidente? jajaja). Si tuviera que definir la ciudad con una sola palabra sería, sin duda, circo. Porque parece un parque de atracciones gigante, pero de estos anclados en el pasado. Es una ciudad super colorista y con edificios tan singulares como el Pabellón Real. En cierto modo me parece un decorado sacado de la película Big.
The Royal Pavilion is an ancient royal residence built by King George IV. When he first visited Brighton in 1786 ordered the construction of the palace. Its interior is a delirious crossing of Asian styles.
El Royal Pavilion (Pabellón Real), es una antigua residencia real construida por el rey Jorge IV. Éste, visitó por primera vez Brighton en 1786 y ordenó la construcción del palacio. Su interior es un cruce delirante de estilos asiáticos.
Its center is also very picturesque, full of colorful houses and pedestrian streets. The festival unfolds throughout the city, flooding all its bars and concert halls with thousands of young bands. Totally recommendable. I could see Klangstof live, a group that, as you know, I really wanted to see live!
Su centro también es muy pintoresco, lleno de casas de colores y calles peatonales. El festival se desarrolla en toda la ciudad, inundando todos su bares y salas de concierto de miles de jóvenes bandas. Sin duda totalmente recomendable. Pude ver en directo a Klangstof, un grupo que, como ya sabéis, tenía muchas ganas de ver en directo!
Unfortunately, time didn't go along and it was pouring all day. The rain stopped only for one hour in the morning, just the time to take these pictures! LOL. So, hopefully next year I can enjoy the festival and the city with more time and a better weather.
Por desgracia, el tiempo no acompañó y estuvo todo el día diluviando. Solo salió el solo una hora por la mañana, el tiempo justo para hacer estas fotos! jajajaja. Así que, espero poder el año que viene con más tiempo y poder disfrutar del festival y de la ciudad.
