With Talk Show Host Radiohead still ringing in my head, here my personal chronic of this year's Primavera Sound. The year where the festival hung the sold out sign months ago, after introducing the impressive line-up of this edition.
Con la canción Talk Show Host de Radiohead todavía sonando en mi cabeza, os traigo mi personal crónica del Primavera Sound 2016. El año donde el festival colgaba el cartel de ENTRADAS AGOTADAS desde hace meses, tras presentar el impresionante line-up de esta edición.
On Wednesday we gave start to the festival with Suede's free concert, a burst of energy that made you doubt about the almost 50 years of Brett. After the concert, the folly of trying to access the meter among a huge tide of people.
El miércoles dábamos inicio al festival con el concierto gratuito de Suede en el Forum, un estallido de energía que te hacía dudar de los casi 50 años que tiene Brett. Tras el concierto, la locura de intentar acceder al metro entre una marea ingente de gente.
On Thursday I was pretty nervous because I wanted to see Suede presenting their new album "Night Thoughts" at the auditorium. A show where the band plays their last work from start to finish whilst a screen on stage shows the film made by photographer/director Roger Sargent for the occasion. This required purchasing a special ticket with its long queues, etc. But I got it and could enjoy this unique and intimate show. Suede live is certainly much more exciting, but "Night Thoughts" does not leave you indifferent.
El jueves había cierta tensión porque quería conseguir sí o sí ver a Suede en el auditorio con su nuevo trabajo "Night Thoughts". Show en el que la banda toca el último disco al completo mientras reproduce en el escenario la película que el fotógrafo y realizador Roger Sargent ha creado para la ocasión. Para ello era necesario adquirir una entrada para el auditorio con sus consiguientes colas, etc. Pero lo conseguimos y pudimos disfrutar de un show único e intimo. Sin duda Suede en directo es mucho más emocionante, pero "Night Thoughts" no te deja indiferente.
After this intimate and somewhat enigmatic performance, wasn't easy to get back the festival spirit, but I enjoyed a beautiful flashback with AIR. Then I saw Tame Impala (a band that I don't like very much) and LCD Soundsystem.
Después de esta actuación intimista y algo angustiosa, me costó recuperar el espíritu festivalero, pero disfrute de un hermoso flashback con AIR. Después vi Tame Impala (que no es un grupo que me guste mucho) y LCD Soundsystem.
On Friday I enjoyed one of the highlights of the festival, Savages and their powerful performance. I think there was no one at that concert that didn't fall in love with Jehnny Beth, the singer. I was keen to see Beirut. I liked them a lot but they lacked of some energy. Then was time to see the headliners and responsible of the SOLD OUT, Radiohead. With a great show and cool visuals, they didn't disappoint the audience playing both new songs and great classics. The whole festival went crazy with Creep. And them time for another great concert of this edition: The Last Shadow Puppets. A show in which Alex Turner conquered all present.
El viernes viví uno de los mejores momentos del festival con Savages y su "adrenalítica" actuación. Creo que no hubo nadie en ese concierto que no se enamorara de Jehnny Beth, la cantante. Después vimos Beirut, que tenía muchas ganas de ver. Me gustaron mucho pero tal vez les falto algo de energía. Después tocaba los cabeza de cartel y responsables del ENTRADAS AGOTADAS, Radiohead. Con un gran show y una puesta en escena muy visual se ganaron a toda la audiencia tocando tanto sus temas nuevos, como sus grandes clásicos. Creep volvió loco a todo el festival. De aquí a otro de mis conciertos preferidos de esta edición: The Last Shadow Puppets. Un show en el que Alex Turner conquistó a todas las presentes.
The big surprise on Saturday were Los Chichos, with an absolute full house at the Adidas stage ... I would have never imagined, really. I only saw 3 songs, because I didn't want to miss PJ Harvey, a goddess on stage. And then Sigur Ros, one of the concerts I wanted more to see, with amazing visuals. A concert that literally left us all mouth open.
La gran sorpresa del sábado fueron Los Chichos, con un llenazo absoluto del escenario Adidas... Nunca lo hubiera imaginado, la verdad. Solo vi 3 temas porque no quería perderme a PJ Harvey, una diosa sobre el escenario. Y de aquí a Sigur Ros, uno de los conciertos que más ilusión me hacía ver, con unos visuales increíbles. Un concierto en el que, literalmente, nos dejaron a todos con la boca abierta.
And, as a summary, 15th June I will get 2017's 3 -day-pass! HAHAHAHA. Enjoy the rest of the Sunday. I will try not to move from the sofa.
