From Memphis we went to Nashville, our last stop on the Route 61 and end of our road trip ... Fortunately, we were so eager to discover Nashville that in our minds, was somehow scattered that it was the last city of our incredible journey. Nashville was for me Johnny Cash and American country. Best combination!
¡No podía haber mejor combinación!
Nashville was a box of surprises for us. We discovered that it's smaller than Memphis. Perhaps for many of you may seem obvious, but we were convinced that Nashville was a big city! We were expecting a traditional city, full of cowboys, cowboy boots and banjos, and we found a modern city, full of hipsters and a powerful recording industry. We also discovered that Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift were born here :)
Nashville fue una
caja de sorpresas para nosotros. Descubrimos que es más pequeño que Memphis. Tal
What to see:
Downtown, where the real country atmosphere lives. In this sense, you will not be disappointed. Don't miss:
- The views of the skyline from the John Seigenthaler bridge.
- The Johnny Cash Museum.
- The famous Broadway St (very similar to Memphis' Beale S and Bourbon St. in New Orlens), full of bars with live country music, country clothing stores (hats, boots, tools, etc.) and BBQ ribs everywhere.
- Country Music Hall of Fame
- Manuel, Manuel Cuevas' shop, famous for being the creator of the black suits of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley's several costumes (including the gold one), clothing worn by the Beatles on their legendary album Sgt. Pepper's and the logo of Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stones.
East Nashville and 12 South, Nashville hipster neighborhoods. These were the two areas we liked the most in Nashville, where we found the nicest atmosphere with bars, restaurants, shops and terraces full of young people. The most lively area of East Nashville is Five Points. Enjoy a delicious coffee in Bongo East, tacos at Mas Tacos Por Favor or pizza at Pizza East. 12 South is a residential upper class area with a large variety of wonderful shops such us Imogene + Willie (my favorite one), Savant Vintage (second hand) or White's Mercantile (Southern wonderful products). Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Frothy Monkey (try their pancakes!) and homemade poles at Las Paletas.

- Country Music Hall of Fame
Third Man records, near the Country Music Hall of Fame is the label founded by Jack White. A visit to his shop is a must! You can record your own vinyl, make pictures in a photobooth or enjoy the wide selection of vinyl records selected by Jack White himself. Carter Vintage Guitars, one of the shops people recommended us to buy guitars, is also very close to Third Man records.

Totalmente recomendable.
