Appletree Garden Festival 2015

One more time, Moriarty and I returned to our favorite festival: Appletree Garden Festival. A place that has captivated us and make us wanna return every year! (here you can see last year's edition).

Un año más, Moriarty y yo volvimos a nuestro festival favorito: Appletree Garden Festival. Un sitio que nos ha cautivado y al que cada año volvemos con más ganas si cabe! (aquí podéis ver la edición del 2014).

Appletree Garden is a festival that makes you fall in love because of its audience, location and the security team at the stages. Indeed, even if it may sound like a cliche, the public is unique. Far from a hipster parade, what predominates in here are wellies, raincoats and eternal smiles. The forest is magical and the security team is so nice that sometimes steal the limelight from the artists. If last year our favorite was the Italian-heavy-guy this year we were for the red-viking!

Appletree Garden es un festival que te enamora por su público, su localización y el equipo de seguridad de los conciertos. De verdad, puede sonar a frase hecha, por el público es único. Lejos de un desfile hipster, aquí lo que predomina son las botas de agua, los chubasqueros y las sonrisas eternas. El bosque es mágico y los seguratas de los conciertos son tan simpáticos que, en ocasiones, roban el protagonismo a los artistas. Si el año pasado nuestro favorito era el italiano heavy este año nos quedamos con el vikingo pelirrojo!

We returned to our favorite hotel, Zum Jagdhorn (which had increased considerably the power of its wifi!) and to the village's open air pool. The parade of people in swimsuits, wellingtons and raincoat was unique. There was storm and bad was banned. After 5 minutes, the sun came out, and loudspeakers announced that bad was allowed again: all festival-goers jumped immediately to the pool.

Volvimos a nuestro hotel favorito, Zum Jagdhorn (que había aumentado la potencia del wifi considerablemente!) y a la piscina del pueblo. El desfile de gente en bañador, botas de agua y chubasquero es único. Por un momento, hubo tormenta y nos prohibieron el baño. A los 5 minutos, volvió a salir el sol, y cuando desde megafonía volvieron a permitir el baño, todos los festivaleros se tiraron en plancha al agua.

My must-haves from the line-up were Reptile Youth, which live are hyperactive-fun; Sizarr, a group I've been following for years and Friska Viljor. There were four secret bands on the line-up. The first one was Mighty Oaks!!! A group I discovered two years ago in this very festival when they played at the site. This year they played on the main stage and it was a blast!

Mis must-have del line-up eran Reptile Youth, que en directo son una pasada hiperactiva; Sizarr, grupo al que sigo desde hace años y Friska Viljor. Había cuatro grupos sorpresa. El primero de ellos fue Mighty Oaks!!!! Grupo que descubrí hace 2 años en este mismo festival cuando tocaron en el camping. Este año tocaban en el escenario principal y fue una auténtica pasada!

The German groups were the surprise of the festival. We saw a group called Wanda, that filled the entire concert and made the audience vibrate. Perhaps it is not a cult band, but certainly a band to have fun and don't stop jumping! Sizarr, which are always fully recommended and, the big surprise, Annen May Kantereit. I could not make good pictures of them because it was fully packed, but the song dedicated to his father, "Oft gefragt" gave me the creeps.

Los grupos alemanes fueron la sorpresa para nosotras. Vimos a Wanda, un grupo que lleno el concierto y que hizo vibrar a todo el público. Tal vez no sea un grupo de culto, pero sin duda para pasártelo bien y no dejar de saltar! Sizarr, que siempre son totalmente recomendables y, la gran sorpresa, Annen May Kantereit. No pude hacer buenas fotos de ellos porque no cabía ni un alfiler, pero el tema que dedicó a su padre "Oft Gefragt" me puso los pelos de punta.

And certainly, the biggest difference this year, were our friends Los Jumentos! Felipe and Elena aka Los Jumentos are two expatriate living in these German green parts. Last year we "met" them on instagram after the festival. We kept contact through instagram and, later, through FB. This year both came to PS15 and we finally met in them person. They have been our hosts during the festival and guardians of our belongings in their tent. Something really valuable in a festival where you need sunscreen and bikini as much as a raincoat.

Y, sin duda, la gran diferencia de este año era contar con nuestros amigos Los Jumentos! Felipe y Elena aka Los Jumentos son dos expatriados que viven por estos lares verdes alemanes. El año pasado dimos con ellos por instagram una vez acabado el festival. Empezamos a escribirnos por instagram y, más tarde, nos agregamos al FB. Este año vinieron al PS15 y los conocimos finalmente en persona, y durante el Appletree han sido nuestros anfitriones y guardianes de nuestras pertenencias en su tienda de campaña. Algo realmente valioso en un festival que lo mismo necesitas protector solar, que chubasquero, que un bikini.
