My first date was Tuesday at Apolo to see Ibeyi live. Two Franco-Cuban sisters, daughters of the prestigious Cuban percussionist Miguel Anga Diaz (Buena Vista Social Club), mixing magically electronic and Yoruba music, dubstep and spiritual prayers from Nigeria.
Mi primera cita era el martes en la sala Apolo para ver en vivo a Ibeyi, dos hermanas franco-cubanas hijas del prestigioso percusionista cubano Miguel Angá Díaz (Buenavista Social Club), que mezclan electrónica y música yoruba, el dubstep y los rezos espirituales originarios de Nigeria de forma mágica.

On Wednesday we enjoy more music, this time at the forum: Christina Rosenvinge, Cinerama and Albert Hammond. On Thursday things became more serious: Hiss Golden Messenger, Benjamin Booker, Antony and the Johnsons, The Black Keys and Simian Mobile Disco. Friday; Ex Hex, Patti Smith, Damien Rice, two songs of Belle & Sebastian, three songs of Ride, Run The Jewels, three themes of Death from Above 1979 and Alt-J. Saturday; Marco Mac, two songs of Tori Amos, four songs of Einstürzende Neubauten, Interpol, The Strokes, Thee Oh Sees and a little of Caribou.
El miércoles seguimos de festival, esta vez ya en el forum: Christina Rosenvinge, Cinerama y Albert Hammond. El jueves ya empezábamos en serio: Hiss Golden Messenger, Benjamin Booker, Antony and the Johnsons, The Black Keys y Simian Mobile Disco. Viernes; Ex Hex, Patti Smith, Damien Rice, dos canciones de Belle & Sebastian, tres canciones de Ride, Run The Jewels, tres temas de Death from Above 1979 y Alt-J. Sábado; Mac de Marco, dos temas de Tori Amos, cuatro temas de Einstürzende Neubauten, Interpol, The Strokes, Thee Oh Sees y algo de Caribou.
The most memorable moment of the festival was Damien Rice playing It Takes A Lot To Know A Man. WITHOUT WORDS. I really didn't plan to stay the whole concert. In our list was Belle & Sebastian ... But Damien captivated us with the first chord. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. One man with his guitar filling an entire scenario and more. Wanting more!
El momento más memorable del festival fue Damien Rice tocando It Takes A Lot To Know A Man. SIN PALABRAS. Realmente no teníamos pensado quedarnos a ver todo el concierto. En nuestra lista estaba Belle & Sebastian... Pero Damien nos cautivó al primer acorde. Uno de los mejores conciertos que he visto nunca. Un hombre solo con su guitarra llenando todo un escenario y más. Con infinitas ganas de más!

The best show was, undoubtedly, Marco Mac. As soon as they take the stage you see that they are a group of friends having a good time. They make you dance and laugh non stop. As for elegance and charisma, Interpol are the winner, closely followed by Alt-J. Both with a quite similar aesthetics on stage. While musically, Interpol convinces more.
El mejor show fue, sin duda, Mac de Marco. En cuanto salen al escenario ya ves que son un grupo de amigos pasándoselo bien. Consiguen que no pares de bailar ni reír. En cuanto a elegancia y carisma sobre el escenario me quedo con el concierto de Interpol, aunque muy seguidos por Alt-J. Ambos con una estética escénica bastante similar. Si bien, musicalmente hablando, Interpol convence mucho más.

With an intense aesthetic (I can not think of a best adjective), the accompanying orchestra and his evocative voice, the concert brings you to another dimension. The discoveries of the festival, Hiss Golden Messenger and Benjamin Booker.
El más sorprendente y místico fue el concierto de Antony and the Johnsons. Con una estética muy intensa (no se me ocurre mejor adjetivo), el acompañamiento de orquesta y una voz muy evocadora, el concierto te transportaba a otra dimensión. Y los descubrimientos fueron Hiss Golden Messenger y Benjamin Booker.
And, best of all, my friends, Thaïs visiting me and finally meeting the Jumentos!!!!!! Happy Sunday to all of you! I'll keep listening Damien Rice non stop for the rest of the week!
